Madeline Neville received her Culinary Degree in Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University. A native of (Westchester County) love and marriage moved her to Upstate New York where she settled into a position as a Sales Representative for a food service company out of Rochester, NY. While working in that field, she had made several contacts with local caterers and it was one of these contacts that led to the start of Madeline’s Catering.
When a business acquaintance double booked an event, the caterer begged Madeline to take on the assignment. Madeline took up the challenge and catered the event running all the food out of her private kitchen. The customer was so impressed with the event, the attention to detail, and the quality of the food they asked her to cater another event and recommended her to their friends. Within a short time, Madeline realized she had started a catering company.
One of the first moves Madeline made was to search for a professional kitchen in which to run her business. Another quirk of fate led her to catering a party for Artisan Works (www.artisanworks.net). This client was so impressed they asked her to return again and again and a short while later they asked her to be their exclusive caterer. She moved into their building on Blossom Road in 2002 and Madeline’s Catering has been there ever since.
Today, Madeline’s Catering hosts over 500 events a year and has a full time dedicated staff personally hired, trained and supervised by Madeline. Two years ago, her husband, Rich Neville, a Certified Executive Chef who has worked for the Rochester Convention Center as well as the Stouffer Hotels among other places, decided the time had come for this business to become a family enterprise and he joined Madeline’s Catering full time. The high standards that jump started Madeline’s business in the early days are still in place today and evident in all attention to detail that goes into every assignment. The evidence of this is in the number of repeat customers they serve every year.
